Medical Care

You will need to call the clinic for an appointment and/or a referral. Clinic hours are 5-8 pm on the first Wednesday of each month and on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Mondays of each month. If you meet the 350% poverty guidelines below, please call 608-375-4324. You will need to bring proof of income and residency for all household members with you to your appointment, such as a pay stub, income tax return, or other form.  Click here for more information on income and residency requirements

We deliver care like any other clinic in many ways, but we serve on a first come, first serve basis.  We take care of our patients in the order in which they sign in, unless someone is severely ill and we need to triage them to the front of the line.

Our medical care is limited to residents of Grant or Crawford Counties. Remember that our doctors are giving of their time to help you and are doing their best to make sure that you get the very best of care.  This sometimes requires more time per patient and your wait time may be a little longer.

  1. When you get here, you must sign in.
  2. You will receive a copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices
  3. You will then see the screener for any updates in your income
  4. Next, you will see the nurse for vitals, weight, blood pressure, temp, etc.
  5. Then you may have a wait time before seeing the Doctor while they are seeing the patient before you.
  6. If you are just getting medication refills, remember there is only one Med Tech on per night and patience is required.

What we CAN do:

Our Free Clinic provides treatment for routine illness or injuries; and long-term chronic

conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma and high cholesterol. We also

provide a limited range of medical testing and x-Rays due to our Affiliations with Emplify

Health (formerly Gunderson) of Boscobel. IHCWC offers prescription drug assistance and

referrals to Secondary Care Specialists if our patients need additional help. We are also

licensed with the State of Wisconsin as a non-profit, which means we can raise funds for

our clinic and contributors can use their donations as a tax-deductible donation.

What we CANNOT do:

Our clinic does not function as an emergency care center, and we do not handle

employment related injuries. We refer Women’s health issues, reproductive care,

medications (dealing with reproductive health for either men or women) and testing for

STDs to Well Women programs and County Reproductive Health Clinics.

WE DO NOT OFFER NARCOTICS for chronic pain and do not have narcotics on the

premises. Handling narcotics requires a high level of physical security for the staff and

building along with more paperwork and government regulation compared to what other

prescription medications require.

  • We Reserve the Right to Refuse Service to Anyone!

  • Courtesy and Respect are Requirements of this Clinic!
